We are featuring the jewelry of Kathy Pine & World Wise Jewelry. Kathy designs jewelry using Fair Trade beads and reclaimed metals. Kazuri beads are handcrafted by artists in a factory that provides a respectful and secure workplace for single mothers, widows and other disadvantaged women. “Kazuri” literally means “small and beautiful” in Swahili.

Fair Trade is indeed making a difference in the World, particularly for Women, restoring communities and dignity. We are now stocking products from 51 countries and over 150 producer groups. May 10th - World Fair Trade Day is a very special day that we will mark with joy.
And what better way to celebrate May 11th - Mother's Day, than by giving a gift that also helps women around the world, and completing the circle. Look for beads from Guatemala, Kenya, Nepal, South Africa, or scarves from Ethiopia and India. Or our wonderful Shea Butter Soap, made here on Vashon using products from the Shea Butter Cooperative, Sokode, Togo.
